After attempting to adjust to baseball season being over with for my little man, the school year ending while leaving me racking my brain out for fun summer activities to occupy a five year old and an eight year old because if not said children will kill each other, walking the dog everyone wanted but no one wants to do the actual taking care of, cleaning a house that magically messes itself up right behind me as I go, watching my grocery bill soar because apparently no amount of food is enough for my children to consume during the summer, and cranking out a novel in four weeks...I am due for a vacation! Yes, I said it! A vacation!
My version of a vacation: parking my butt in a beach chair, digging my toes in the sand, and grabbing up the paperback I bought forever ago and haven't read yet. I don't know if this will actually happen, but I'm taking both my beach chair and that paperback I've been wanting to read and at least attempting to get away with it. What I will not be taking however is my laptop. This year I will be attempting to cut myself off from the Internet and writing.
Since the husband is taking his iPad, because sometimes I seriously wonder if he had that thing surgically attached to his right left arm, I will be checking my email and tweeting here and there. I'm just going to have to be sneaky about it, because it seems I'm the only one who gets the annoyed "You're still on that thing?" looks from my family.
So, I will be signing off until next Monday. When I come back I'll have some sort of a post regarding The Unloved for you. I'll also be letting you know when my expected release day is soon!

My kids are the same ages and luckily the 8 year old can run off and play with friends in the neighborhood. But then the 5 year old gets jealous because she can't just ride off on her bike. She doesn't understand she can't take off by herself because she's five. Big brother didn't do that then, but she does't remember because she was only 2 at that time.
ReplyDeleteBy the time summer is done, I will need a vacation. Have fun on yours.
