A while back I did an interview for Maria Rachel Hooley and I loved the entire process of it...so I've been thinking, why not make this a regular thing?

Novella Update...
The Snyder Household has been bonkers for the last few weeks and I've not managed to get as much done as I've intended. BUT, I did complete the first draft of my Novella...yes, it's a novella if I go by the chart posted on here earlier and I am. I ended at aprox. 18,200 words. I'll keep you updated on whether or not that changes.
I've sent it out to a few beta readers, so hopefully today will be a good day of revising and pondering any suggestions given. I still haven't finished a blurb for it yet, but I'm trying!
I will, however, give you the title...Touch: A Novella.
I'm supper excited about this one, but nervous all at the same time because this project is so different from Shattered Soul as it is a YA Paranormal Romance.
On to other things, Shattered Soul has been receiving some AMAZING reviews lately on both Goodreads and Amazon and I couldn't be happier about it! Thank you to all those who have purchased my novel in the last few months and taken the time to write an honest review! You people ROCK!

A Wonderful 5 Star Review...
This was posted up yesterday on Amazon and it seriously made my week! Just wanted to share it with you guys! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :)

I LOVED THIS BOOK. IT WAS FAST PACED, SMOOTH AND EASY READING. BEFORE I KNEW IT I WAS AT THE END. My heart breaks for the main character and I found myself wanting more for him. Looking back as a teenager I can see how easily it would be to relate to this story, either you have been in this situation or have known someone who was. As a writer she definitely hits home. Its nice to see a book with an ending that you are completely shocked by. EXCEPTIONAL, EASY READ, WOULD READ MORE OF HER STYLE OF WRITING!!!!!!!!!!

Randomness...
This Novella (or Novelette, which ever it turns out to be) is moving along smoothly...well at least the first draft. I have to be honest though, I've been finding it difficult to make time for writing when my kids are doing Ninja- like take down moves against each other and this new dog is like potty training a two year old.
It never fails...as soon as my pen is flying across the paper something happens to pull me away. Either I have to play referee or clean up dog pee, it has been a toss up between the two. Thank goodness for nap time and hardwood floors!
I'm so close to being finished with this WIP that I can taste it! Once I complete the first draft, over the next few weeks, I'll try to get a blurb written and post it in my Upcoming Projects section for you guys.
Is it bad to say that I'm ready for summer to be over? Because I am. I truly am. The promise of warmth from the winter always lures me in, making me forget how chaotic my house becomes and how hot the south can be. But now I remember...

Novella or Short Story...
I've been contemplating what the difference between a Novella and a Short Story is since yesterday. And no, I still have not googled it. Which is odd for me because I google everything...sometimes it's even my doctor! Seriously.
Why am I stressing about the difference, I have no idea. I just am. It dawned on me yesterday that the WIP I've got going on will most likely end up being around 22,000 words, maybe even a little less, by the time I'm finished. Then I began thinking "What do you call that?" and bam, there you have it...my problem. So, people...which is it...Novella or Short Story? Does it even matter?
***The answer is yes, it does matter. I just googled it and boom, Wikipedia came to the rescue! A nifty little chart...there were others that varied, but I think this will work for me.
Novel- over 40,000 words
Novella- 17,500 to 40,000 words
Novelette- 7,500 to 17,500 words
Short Story- under 7,500 words
Based on this...Shattered Soul just barely was able to be called a Novel at 45,000 words!

Winners, winners...
I really enjoyed my "Paying It Forward" contest on Monday...and because of that I'm thinking of doing something similar on Twitter also. I haven't yet decided how, but I'm absolutely going to let my kids pick the winners. You should have seen their eyes and how serious they took their job! So, if you don't follow me on Twitter...you might want to, especially if you didn't win a coupon code for Shattered Soul in the first contest.
Speaking of, if you did win a coupon code in the Paying It Forward Contest and you've went to use it and it does not work...it's because I only made it for 3 days. This was my bad, I'll be sure to get you another one with a longer shelf life, please just email me!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Paying It Forward...
Today I'm paying it forward. I entered into a little contest to win some AWESOME books over the weekend...I didn't win the grand prize, but was still rewarded anyways. Keira Lea, author of Replay, was kind enough to send me a coupon for a free download of her novel!
So how am I paying it forward you might be asking yourselves...well, I'm going to allow my kids to randomly pick three people each this morning off my followers list. I will then email them a smashwords coupon for a FREE copy of Shattered Soul! Check your email boxes today people!
*Also, Happy fourth of July! :)
***************************UPDATE**********************************
My kids have picked the winners! I've sent each of them a message asking for an email address so I can email them back with a smashwords coupon code. Here are the winners...
Peeweed
lesliewright71020
Claudine
Dave
Keytons
Missy
This was fun! My kids were entertained, I was entertained, and now, hopefully, the winners will be entertained!

Number Crunchers...
Okay, so another month has come and gone. From here on out I'll post up my numbers for the month at the first of every month and it will be titled the same "Number Crunchers".
Did my numbers change since the last time I posted them up this month on the fourteenth? Not really, no. Am I fine with that? Why yes, yes I am. Why you might ask? Because I'm humble. :)
Here are my numbers for June:
Nook - 3 books sold = $5.82
Kinlde - 2 books sold = $4.14
Createspace - 0
Smashwords - 0
Total of $9.96 for the month.
