1) Never eat a cherry pop-tart (or any pop-tart) on the drive there, because those pieces you drop and think "oh, they must have fell onto the floorboard and I'll get them later" will not be on the floorboard when you arrive. They will be mashed into a gooey, red mess and stuck to your crotch and back pocket when you get out of the car, because of all the shifting you do to ease your numb butt while driving.
2) Bring an extra pair of pants. Because when one has smooshed pop-tart on them, your other pair will most likely have an issue as well at some point. In my case, I ripped the back leg of my second pair on the second night. Epic fail.
3) During the signing wear a turtleneck tank top. A: because if you're like me and you blush heavily while frazzled and the center of attention you will turn tomato red. B: people will then ask you if you're okay because they're concerned. This will make you even redder and you will pray you're splotchy chest and redness would just go away for a long period of time. C: It will be hot in the room. Either this is because of your nerves or simply because of the AC not being cranked up like you feel it should.
4) Bring a variety of markers and pens to sign with. If you only bring two sharpie pens to sign all your dark bookmarks and the black giveaway bags with, you will become the annoying person who is constantly asking to borrow a marker from the person beside you. (Thank you Alyssa Rose Ivy for not getting mad at me for being that person!)
Here are some pictures!
Savannah was beautiful! It was in the forties when I left North Carolina and around seventy when I arrived in Savannah!
Loved this fountain! So pretty!
Here I am dressed in my Author attire!
My first set up! Isn't the banner of Break You stunning?!
Here's the great stuff I walked away with! So, so excited!
Here is my roomie, Alyssa Rose Ivy, and myself. Yup, those are my pepto pink pj's with black polka dots. I was so excited to meet Alyssa in person for the first time!
All in all, this was a great trip. I really enjoyed the time I spent with all the wonderful authors. I wish I'd taken more pictures though. Especially one with Sarra Cannon! I completely fan girled over meeting her in person.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend like I did!
